Links to More Links

Phil Johnson’s Bookmarks – A veritable cornucopia of links conveniently categorized for ease of use.

Theology/Church History/Literature

The Spurgeon Archive – Another of Phil Johnson’s wonderful sites packed with all things Spurgeon.

The Hall of Church History – Perhaps one of the best one-stop sites for church history. Yet another of Phil Johnson’s wonderful web creations.

Christian Classics Ethereal Library – Here you’ll find such jewels as The Confessions of St. Augustine, Bunyan’s Pilgrim’s Progress, Jonathan Edwards’ Religious Affections, William Law’s A Serious Call to a Devout and Holy Life, Spurgeon’s Treasury of David, Gill’s A Body of Doctrinal Divinity…and literally hundreds more!

Monergism Books – Great resource for great Christian books.

The Martyn Lloyd-Jones Recordings Trust – All things MLJ. If you’ve never heard MLJ preach, you really owe it to yourself to take advantage of this site’s offerings.

Bible Study/Word Studies

The Blue Letter Bible – One of my favorite websites for doing exegesis on the fly. Here you’ll find 14 Bible translations, every verse of which are tied to The Treasury of Scripture Knowledge (TSK), Strong’s Concordance, the BHS Hebrew Lexicon, Thayer’s Greek Lexicon, and the Septuagint. You’ll also find several good commentaries (such as John Calvin, Matthew Henry, and the JFB), Bible dictionaries (Nave’s, Torrey, and Easton). If you’ve not checked this site out, you really owe it to yourself to do so.

Study Light – This is also a great website containing tons of valuable resources for the serious student of God’s word (perhaps most notable are the full text of the International Standard Bible Encyclopedia (ISBE) and the Interlinear Bible).

Churches/Friends/Worthwhile Ministries

Grace Community Church – Pastor John MacArthur

Founders Ministries – Great things are happening within the SBC. Check it out!

Nine Marks Ministries – Mark Dever’s (Capitol Hill Baptist Church) ministry

Alpha and Omega Ministries – James White’s apologetics

Ligonier Ministries – The online ministry of R.C. Sproul

Grace To You – John MacArthur’s ministry – Sermons, books, streaming video, etc.

The Alliance of Confessing Evangelicals – Online ministry featuring the work of the late Dr. James Montgomery Boice and his successor, Philip Ryken.

White Horse Inn – The White Horse Inn is a nationally syndicated radio talk show hosted by Michael Horton, Rod Rosenbladt, Kim Riddlebarger and Ken Jones. On the air since 1990, the show features a regular roundtable discussion of Christian theology and apologetics.

The Sacred Sandwich – Need a laugh? Self-billed as “A Periodical for Small Town Christians in the Big Bad World”, this is probably one of the most hilarious websites I’ve ever seen. Join the League of Tyndale in poking fun at the likes of Pat Robertson, Joel Osteen, Rick Warren, et al. Especially rib-tickling are the Photo Gallery and Advertisement sections.

Online Sermons

One Place – Not everyone who broadcasts here is solid so listen at your own risk, but there are some really good messages by very solid pastors (John MacArthur, John Piper, A.W. Tozer, C.H. Spurgeon, Alistair Begg, and others).

Sermon Audio – Same warning as above applies but this site contains a lot of great content nonetheless.

Bible Bulletin Board – Tony Capocia’s online ministry deals largely with John MacArthur’s sermons but also has a wealth of other content (Spurgeon’s Sermons, the George Whitefield Collection, the Thomas Watson Collection, the Jonathan Edwards Collection, the J.C. Ryle Collection, Bible verses on selected topics, etc.)

Blogs Pastor Tim Reads

Pyromaniacs – Phil Johnson’s Blog. A real treat for the eyes and great content too!

Founders Blog – Commentary and observations from Tom Ascol, Executive Director of Founders Ministries

Threshold –’s website/blog. A really good resource for all things reformed. Lots of great reading here.

Challies Dot Com – Tim Challies’ hyper-informational site. Really great stuff for a Canadian web designer, eh? Tim is also responsible for giving the world the Discerning Reader online book service (see link in Theology/Church History/Literature). Bravo, Tim!
